To ensure the success of this race, we need volunteers! Volunteers can hand out water, serve as course marshals, and provide support at the finish line. This is a great way to get involved if you don’t want to participate in the race.

How much does it cost to run?

The cost to run is:

    • $30 until August 15th, 2017
    • $35 until online registration closes on September 22nd, 2017
    • $40 on race day or packet pick-up (cash and check only)

All proceeds from Run! Geek! Run! will go directly to support the Alexandria Firefighters Helping Hands Relief Fund.

What awards and prizes are available?

Bobblehead trophies will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top three male and female finishers in each of the groups below. The top three Corporate and Community Teams will also receive awards.

Where do I pick up my race packet?

Packet pickup will take place at Pacers in Old Town (1301 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314) on Friday, September 22nd from 12 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday, September 23rd from 10 AM to 2 PM. You can also pick up your packet on race day. If you’re feeling generous, you can pick up your friends’ or team members’ packets, too!

In-person registration is also available at packet pick-up and on race day for $40 per runner (cash and check only). 

Are strollers allowed on the course?

Yes, strollers are allowed on the course. We simply ask that you start at the back of the pack and be considerate of the runners around you.

Is there a maximum time to finish the race?

No, there is no official time limit. However, we do anticipate walkers completing the course within one hour. If you anticipate this being a problem, please let us know your expected finishing time.

Ironistic and Hudson Studio are proud to take over the reins and co-sponsor the 10th Annual Run! Geek! Run! 5K which was founded in 2008.

Ironistic.com is a full service website design, development and online marketing firm headquartered in Alexandria, VA. Hudson Studio is a visual communications firm providing graphic design services for everything and anything in print from brand identities to infographics to reports to swag.
