What does the course look like?

How much does it cost to run?

The cost to run is:

    • $30 until August 14th, 2019
    • $35 until online registration closes on September 25th, 2019
    • $40 at packet pickup and on race day

All proceeds from RUN! GEEK! RUN! will go directly to support the National Industries for the Blind.

How do I sign up with a team?

The first member of your team to sign up will click CREATE A NEW TEAM and enter a team name on the 4th page of the registration. On the next page, specify either CORPORATE or COMMUNITY team.

Subsequent registrants will click JOIN A TEAM and enter the team name in the box provided

Sponsors receiving free race entries will be asked to enter their specific promotional discount code just before the CHECKOUT SUMMARY page.

Where do I park?

Parking will be located at the George Washington Middle School parking lot, conveniently near the race’s start/finish line. View course location and directions

What awards are available?

Bobblehead trophies will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top three male and female finishers in each of the age groups below. The top three Corporate and Community Teams will also receive awards.

Where do I pick up my race packet?

Packet pickup will take place at National Industries for the Blind Headquarters (3000 Potomac Avenue Alexandria, Virginia 22305) on:

  • Friday, September 27th from 12 PM to 8 PM
  • Saturday, September 28th from 10 AM to 2 PM

You can also pick up your packet on race day starting at 7:30 AM.

In-person registration is also available at packet pickup and on race day for $40 per runner.

Are strollers allowed on the course?

Yes, strollers are allowed on the course. We simply ask that you start at the back of the pack and be considerate of the runners around you.

Is there a maximum time to finish the race?

No, there is no official time limit. However, we do anticipate walkers completing the course within one hour. If you anticipate this being a problem, please let us know your expected finishing time.

Is this race kid-friendly?

Absolutely! All ages are welcome to run with us. Plus, bobble head trophies will be given to the top male and female runners in the 9 and below age group.
